Technology & Business

Design Technology is taught on a rotation through Key Stage 3 so students experience a range of materials and specialisms, including food, graphics, textiles and engineering. At Key Stage 4 students can opt for GCSEs in Design Technology, Food & Nutrition or a Tech Award in Engineering. At Key Stage 5 we offer a Product Design A level which leads on from the GCSE in Design Technology.

The Business & Enterprise Department offer GCSE Business and BTEC Enterprise at Key Stage 4. At Key Stage 5 they run A levels in Business and Economics.

The ICT Department teach IT lessons throughout Key Stage 3 and then offer GCSE Computer Sciences or a Cambridge National in Creative iMedia at Key Stage 4. At Key Stage 5 an A level in Computer Sciences is available.

All subjects are taught by specialist teachers consisting of a Head of Department and subject specific teachers.

Each department benefits from a programme of enrichment.  This can take the form of trips, for example, to The V & A, Bletchley Park, Fibreoptic Engineering, and Business Forums with outside contributors.
