Dear Parents, Guardians and Students,
We were delighted to welcome our students back to school at the beginning of September. It seems a long time since March when we were all together as a community and we are more than ready to start face-to-face teaching again. The safety of our school community is a priority and we have put rigorous systems in place to ensure we can minimise any potential risks.
Our students who should have taken external examinations this year had a difficult few weeks around their results but, with the recognition of Centre Assessed Grades, they have now received the grades they deserve and over 90% of Year 13 students have their first choice of university places with other taking up high quality degree level apprenticeships. For both Year 11 and 13 students their grades reflect and recognise the two years of hard work that they and their teachers have put in. Our A-level, BTEC and GCSE results are the best the school has ever achieved and we are rightly proud.
Although we are stepping into an uncertain future we are doing this together and we feel confident that we can overcome the challenges ahead and continue to provide the very highest standard of education for our young people in the coming year.
Mrs K Haig
