Staff and students all use the canteen facilities. We serve a range of hot and cold food and drinks from our main canteen at morning break and lunchtimes. Our separate, outside catering pod provides an additional outlet for the same range of refreshments and allows us to cater for everyone quickly and efficiently. Sixth form students are served directly to their common room via a hatch from the canteen. This ensures the older students quick access to the whole range of food, drinks, teas and coffee, from their own social area.
At lunchtimes students can choose whether to have a hot or cold lunch and those having packed lunches and school lunches are able to sit together to eat.
A wide selection of foods
Our typical takeaway selection, available at break and lunchtime, includes sandwiches, filled baguettes, baps and wraps, pasta pots, fresh fruit and salad pots. Our hot options include homemade soup and crusty rolls, hot pastries, pizza slices, hot-filled rolls and panini, along with a daily special from the hot counters.
Our pasta bar, with its changing menu of sauces, is very popular at break and lunchtime and caters to meat-eaters and those opting for vegetarian and vegan choices. We also offer a range of home baking, biscuits, popcorn, bottled still water, low sugar juices, milk drinks and hot chocolate.
Cool, fresh drinking water is available free of charge and students are encouraged to bring their own, refillable water bottles to help them stay hydrated throughout the school day.
Our cashless system
We run a biometric system which means that parents can top up their child’s account online. If students have any queries regarding payments they should visit the Finance Cottage and speak to Mrs Chandler.
Free School Meals
Each student entitled to free school meals is allocated an allowance on their biometric canteen account of £3.00 per day which can only be used at break & lunchtime and not carried forward to subsequent days.
Mrs Z Laing: email@example.com, Receptionist (01993 823303) is responsible for handling applications for free school meals.
