Q&A with England Cricket Legend

Q&A with England Cricket Legend

On Friday 29 January, our students were given the opportunity to put forward their questions to former England Cricket Captain, Michael Vaughan, live on Teams.

Michael is a Yorkshire born cricketer and was Captain of the England National team for six years. Michael is considered by many to be the greatest batman England has ever produced and during his time as Captain, he masterminded one of the most memorable Ashes wins for England in 2005.

The students asked insightful and probing questions regarding the game of cricket, the future of cricket and Michael’s career highlights.

Some pertinent messages came from these questions which could be summarised as:

  • Enjoy your sport and practice.
  • Use this time, in lockdown, to your advantage.
  • Find ways to practice and study the game.
  • Overall be a good person and find ways to better yourself during this time.
  • Communicate with those around you if you need help in any way.

It was an inspirational call for our students and Michael was impressed by their enthusiasm and interest.
