Science ‘Illumination Workshop’
On Thursday 21 June, Burford welcomed over 140 Year 3 students who spent the day in the Science Department focusing on the topic of light.
Our visitors carried out four different activities that included making a pinhole camera, using ray-boxes, making a kaleidoscope and looking at reflection and refraction. The students also had a demonstration of dark light, flame tests and got the opportunity to use the Van Der Graaf Generator to light a bulb!
After a very busy day, all our guests were presented with a certificate of their participation in the ‘Illumination Workshops’.
The enthusiasm of the Year 3 students was fantastic and the Science Department were all really impressed with the quality of the work that they produced.
