‘Students make good progress overall because of consistently good teaching’ Ofsted 2014

Typical Pathways

The combination of subjects studied in Year 12 varies according to each student.

  • Most students study three A-levels, plus one course from the Extended Curriculum.
  • Some students, who have achieved outstanding GCSE grades, may decide to study four subjects.

With twenty-five A-level courses to choose from, we offer a broad curriculum to suit all interests and aspirations and have a proven track record of outstanding academic success. We also have a programme for More Able students, which further challenges individuals intellectually, inspiring them to aim even higher.

Full details on each of our A-Level courses can be viewed in the current Sixth Form Prospectus.

Extended Curriculum

The Extended Curriculum is a compulsory element within the Sixth Form. All students in Year 12 study one or more options from the following:

  • AQA Extended Project Qualification
  • AS Ancient History
  • Community Sports Leader Award (CSLA)
