Virtual Q&A with Robert Courts MP

Virtual Q&A with Robert Courts MP

On Friday 26 March some Year 9 students were lucky enough to have a virtual talk from Robert Courts, our local Member of Parliament for Witney. During the session, Robert described and explained what life is like as an MP, his role as Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State for Transport and general information on how the government works and how decisions are made in the Houses of Parliament.

The students were able to ask Robert questions to find out more about him as an MP and about issues they were interested in. Questions ranged from ‘How did you become an MP?’ to more challenging questions on the current pandemic, issues linked to equality and safety for women and decisions made by the government about free school meal provision. The students showed great questioning skills and also a real interest in a range of challenging topics.
