I’ve Got the Music In Me
On Wednesday 13 October the Music department hosted its first “live” event in more than eighteen months and it was a thoroughly enjoyable occasion! The Open Mic Night saw some of our talented singers and songwriters take to the stage in the Drama Studio to showcase both original and cover material from a wide variety of genres and the audience loved it!
During the summer break, Matthew in Year 10 competed at the National Athletics Championships over 100 metres.

He finished the athletics season ranked 2nd in the country on “Power of 10” and inside the UK target time of 11.20 seconds.
Grundon Waste Management Talk
On Tuesday 21 and Monday 27 September we had the pleasure of welcoming Simon Arnold from Grundon Waste Management into school. Simon delivered some excellent presentations to students in a variety of year groups that were full of exciting facts and information.
These presentations were organised as part of our ongoing commitment to raising awareness of environmental issues and to reducing our impact on the environment both in school and the wider community.
The presentation focused on the waste hierarchy and the idea that we should try to reduce, reuse, repair and recycle as much as possible, to reduce our need to recover or dispose of materials.
The presentation gave students an insight into how waste is managed by Grundon and suggestions of new technologies that would be help to reduce the environmental impacts of our waste.
