Learn more about Music in our Sixth Form

Burford School Sheldonian Concert 3

Music forms a huge part of life at Burford, including in our Sixth Form.

Each of our A-Level students is guided by a team of specialist teachers to discover their own musical journey through a stimulating curriculum, with the opportunity to receive instrumental tuition and participate in a range of extra-curricular musical activities, including a variety of ensembles and our annual music residential.

Recent A-Level Music results have been excellent, with 83% A*-B.

After Burford, many of our musicians pursue music at a higher level, with several securing places at university (UCA, BIMM, LIPA, Cardiff, Bangor, Surrey - Tonmeister course) or conservatoires in Birmingham, Leeds, Cardiff (RWCMD) and London (Trinity Laban), and many becoming professional musicians.

Our Burford Institute of Music has produced a video (link below) for those interested in studying A-Level Music at Burford School.
