Year 7 Student Hannah Makes Her Big Stage Debut at the New Theatre Oxford

Burford School Year 7 Student Hannah B Oliver New Theatre Oxford Debut 2024

A huge well done must go to Year 7 student Hannah B who last week performed in OXOPS’ production of ‘Oliver!’ at the New Theatre Oxford.

Her first big stage debut, Hannah performed to sell-out crowds of almost 2,000 people after six months of rehearsal. She appeared as multiple characters in the production, with her part of the ensemble of children in the workhouse and part of the ensemble of Fagin’s gang. She also played the role of an affluent child in the song ‘Who Will Buy?’.  Working with some incredible actors and a live band, one of the reviews compared the recent production to that of West End standard.

Reflecting on her involvement in the production, Hannah commented:

This was such an amazing experience.  I have learnt so much and would like to thank the cast, crew and chaperones for making this so memorable. I feel incredibly proud to have been part of such an amazing show and I have made so many new friends.

Hannah will be appearing next in Musical Mania Performing Arts’ production of ‘Shrek The Musical’ at The Griffin Theatre in Cirencester at the end of March. She will also be auditioning for the school production of ‘Monster Under The Stairs’ later this month.
