As Armistice Day falls on a Saturday this year, as a school, following a reading of Laurence Binyon’s poignant poem ‘For the Fallen’, on Friday 10 November we observed a two minute silence to remember those who died during the First World War and in subsequent wars and conflicts.
Throughout the week, we also welcomed serving members of the Armed Forces to deliver readings and reflections on the importance of Remembrance to students in their year group assemblies.
Comprising of poppies created by our Year 7 students, this week the pictured art installation has been on display in our school reception in commemoration of Burford students and staff who made the ultimate sacrifice.
