On Tuesday 5 December, our Year 13 Business and Economics students had the incredible opportunity to explore the BMW Cowley plant. The visit left a lasting impression on our students as they marvelled at the remarkable level of automation showcased throughout the facility. Thousands of robots operated independently in the body plant, while others collaborated seamlessly with human workers in the final assembly plant.
Beyond the technological marvels, students gained valuable insights into the intricacies of the manufacturing process, discovering fascinating details such as the unexpected importance of ostrich feathers in achieving the impeccable paint finish on every Mini produced at Cowley.
This educational experience proved to be both informative and eye-opening, offering our students a first-hand glimpse into the dynamic world of automotive production.
