New Artificial Hockey Pitch for Burford School

We are very proud to announce the opening of our brand new artificial hockey pitch. Students and staff were very excited ahead of its first use on Monday 5 December 2022, with Year 11 the first to try it out during their lesson.

This week we also hosted our first hockey fixtures on the new pitch, welcoming both Farmor’s School and Sibford School. Our U16 hockey team were our first team to play, winning 4-1 against Farmor’s School. Our U14 and Seniors hockey teams were also in action at home.

This new pitch very much represents our continued commitment at Burford to offering our students fantastic opportunities to participate in a broad curriculum, both within and beyond the classroom. It will be used for all future hockey lessons, clubs and home fixtures for all year groups.
