Oxfordshire Careers Champion Award for Burford School Careers Lead

Burford School Careers Lead Helen Haines

Congratulations are in order for our Careers Lead, Mrs Haines, who was recently named as an Oxfordshire Careers Champion as part of The Careers & Enterprise Company & Gatsby Charitable Foundation #CECCAreersChampions Celebrations.

Nominated by OxLEP Skills, this Award recognises Mrs Haines’ significant commitment to driving forward high-quality careers education for young people. Indeed, this includes leading and managing a thriving and progressive careers programme, delivering a successful work experience programme and gaining extensive support from business volunteers for highly valuable careers events for our students, such as Careers Speed Networking.

Remarking on her award, Mrs Haines said, ‘It is wonderful to gain recognition for the work I do every day in my role as Careers Lead, and as part of a wider school team, giving students the knowledge, ability and inspiration to make informed and positive choices to reach their career goals.’

‘It has been another busy year of careers education at Burford and we have engaged with more businesses than ever before through work experience placements and business volunteers supporting activities in school. We cannot deliver high-quality careers education without their support and look forward to engaging with an even wider range of employers next year, whether as guest speakers, work experience hosts or volunteers at mock interviews or career speed networking events.'
